Apply for Service on Tax Division Committees and Task Forces

Would you like to become more involved in AICPA Tax Division activities? Consider letting the profession benefit from your technical, policy, or practice management knowledge and experience by applying for committee membership. We encourage you to apply online.

The deadline for applying for the 2008-09 service year, which begins in October 2008, is May 1, 2008. We also form task forces throughout the year. We are particularly interested in applications from members in academia and business and industry.

An informative Web site is available to simplify the application process. It contains information to assist you in determining on which volunteer groups you would be interested in serving.  A list of Tax Section committees and descriptions is available.

You will need your AICPA membership number to log onto the site. If you do not have your membership number at hand, the Web site will instruct you on how to quickly obtain it. Entering your skills and – particularly – including a resume will facilitate the appointments selection process and enable the AICPA to contact you when new task forces are formed that complement your experience. Please note that our volunteers must have Internet access and an e-mail account to facilitate communication. They must also be members of the AICPA Tax Section.
